¿WHERE IS LOCATED THE COFFEE AXIS 🤔?
The Coffee Axis or well known as the Colombian Coffee Triangle is located at the center-western zone of the Ándes Mountains; as a result, by being located in this central part of the Ándes Mountains, it becomes it as one of the touristic places with more accessibility from the main cities of Colombia such as Medellín, Cali and Bogotá.
To remark, the Coffee Axis is conformed by the following 3 departments such as Risaralda, Quindío and Caldas, which make up the Golden Coffee Triangle which becomes it as one of the colombian zones with more demanding on gastronomy, culture,tourism and endless coffee plantations
HOW TO GET TO THE COFFEE AXIS ?
To get to the Coffee Axis, you can do it by bus as well as by plane. If you are planning to arrive to the Coffee Triangle, you could find flights discounts and promotions

If you are going to travel to the Coffee Axis by plane, you are going to find more available flight options to Pereira than Manizales and Armenia since it is the only city with an international airport. Pereira is located in the middle of Manizales and Armenia.
So, it will be easier to move to both cities of the Colombian Coffee Triangle. Here, we are going to share some available airlines which offers daily nonstop flights

In case you decide to travel by bus, you are going to find many alternatives and transportation schedules. Take into account that traveling from Armenia to Pereira lasts more and less 1 hour. From Pereira to Manizales takes approximately 50 minutes and from Manizales to Armenia 2 hours approximately.
- From Bogotá to the Coffe Axis: 10 hours approximately.

HIKING ROUTES AT THE COFFEE AXIS 🥾
As you may know, The coffee axis is a region of central Colombia that mainly occupies the departments of Caldas, Risaralda, and Quindío. These three departments make up the "Coffee Triangle" that runs along a line from north to south following the central mountain range and the snow-capped peaks of the Nevados National Park, on the eastern flank of the three _which means that the Coffee Triangle be a tourist place filled of mountains highlands, wastelands, rivers,swamps, and forests in which you could enjoy of making plans like ecological walks in the forests or trips to wastelands and snowy mountains.

MEDIUM HIKING ROUTES AT THE COFFEE AXIS ⛰️
The Coffee Region is a good destination for medium and low-distance hikes in which you could not see high inclinations (1500 m.a.s.l to 2500 m.a.s.l), for that reason, you will not see wastelands nor snowy mountains; furthermore, you could see forests with noisy fauna such as the howler monkey 🐒 🦜.

This is an amazing waterfall located near to Pereira, and it is a hike filled with nature, and the route finishes in a waterfall with a high of 229.6 feets

HIGH HIKING ROUTES AT THE COFFEE AXIS 🧗♂️
Unlike the medium and low-distance hikes routes, high hiking routes are routes to be above 9842 to 17060 feets above the sea level. Now, we are going to show those of maximum difficulty. It's highly recommended for those who had previously practiced hiking due to those routes have snow and unstable ground

This route is located in Manizales, exactly on the route that connects Manizales to Fresno-Tolima crossing the famous Alto de Letras. This is a demanding hike since in great part of the route, you will find big rocks which will require a physical effort during the trip. Once you reach the top of the mountain, you will be able to see 2 small lakes

Santa Isabel is one of the three major mountains in the Los Nevados National Park. It's a strenuous hike at a high altitude, and you need to be in good shape and follow an acclimatization process to avoid altitude sickness. The summit is at 16,240 ft (4,950 m) 🏔.
Also, the route is very demanding since you will be reaching snow-capped peaks. It’s recommended that the people who are going to climb this mountain, have experience on high hiking routes to avoid suffering the famous altitude sickness

This is one of the routes in which you could see one of the biggest lakes in the Natural National Park ¨Los Nevados¨. It is a walk with a moderate difficulty. And, it is not recommended for those who suffer from heart diseases.

RECOMMENDATIONS TO TAKE A TOUR 🥾🧳
According to our experience, we highly suggest that you select each place you want to visit per day. Also, take into consideration that the medium and low-distance hikes last around (3 hours per route) and those routes are taken in the morning.
That is why you will have the rest of the day and night off and you could have time to chill out in the city, even you could go to the hot springs located in Santa Rosa de Cabal or go to Salento. We did not include those places in this post because we wanted to focus on a hiking post 🥾.
The routes to Nevado Santa Isabel are booked only with prior reservation. If you are going to go with a group of 3 or 4 people it would be easier to take this tour.
NOTE: All this tours depart from Pereira, since we mentioned earlier, Pereira is located in the middle of Manizales and Armenia.
